The new, more powerful, Aston Martin V12 Vantage S arrives
Aston Martin has been teasing something ‘Coming soon’ for a few days, and here it is – the new V12 Vantage S. The new S replaces the V12 Vantage (which we knew Aston Martin had stopped building) and gets Aston’s latest AM28 version of the venerable V12 with 565bhp and 457lb/ft of torque thanks to new engine management, combustion chambers and camshafts resulting in more power and a much flatter torque curve. The extra power has pushed the V12 S beyond the 200nph barrier, with the top speed now 205mph and, we assume, a quicker sprint to 62mph, but Aston Martin aren’t letting on how much quicker the V12 S is.

Lotus will call its new 'Project Eagle' 2+2 sports car the Evora, it announced today at the London motor show. And whatever you think of the name, the new Lotus Evora was one of the undisputed stars of the show – and one of the few genuine global debuts. What’s new on Lotus’s London motor show stand?Pulling in crowds of expectant photographers and cameramen like you get at Europe's upper-echelon motor shows, the launch of the Evora gave this motor show a feeling of old-school glamour, not seen at a British expo for the past decade.
It seems like we say this every year, but this year it's truly fitting: this was the best Art Center Car Classic ever. Consider that the show covered both ends of the Corvette spectrum, from Peter Brock and the rise of the original “Mitchell Corvette” -- which was right there parked on the grass -- to General Motors designer Pete Thomas and the new C7 parked not far away, with the Mako Shark and the '63 split-window Sting Ray lined up between. A couple car lengths from that was the debut of the finally finished Peter Mullin Bugatti Type 64, a spectacular re-imagining of Jean Bugatti's unfinished final car done by Art Center students and Transportation Design chair Stewart Reed.
